BOOM EXTENSIONS

BOOM EXTENSIONS

Extend and retrofit NRG booms to meet your project’s needs with our boom extensions and adapter kits.

DETAILS

All boom extensions and adapters are made of durable galvanized steel. Both stub mast options come with hose clamps for mounting on any tower or boom up to 203 mm (8”) in diameter.

Each Boom Extension that comes standard with our 2.4m (95”) Side Mount Booms can also be purchased separately. Extensions #5815 and #9342 are for mounting NRG sensors, including the NRG 40C Anemometer, the NRG Class 1 Anemometer and the NRG 200P Wind Vane. Extensions #4475 and #9165 are for mounting the WindSensor P2546-OPR Anemometer. Each boom extension name includes the ratio between the diameter of the horizontal boom and the height the extension will position anemometer cups above the boom. For instance, “20D” indicates that the cups of a WindSensor P2546-OPR Anemometer will be positioned above the horizontal boom arm by an offset height that is 20 times the horizontal boom diameter when using a #9165 boom extension.

We offer a WindSensor Adapter Kit to retrofit standard NRG 60.5” Tubular Booms for mounting the WindSensor P2546-OPR Anemometer.

The Thies Adapter is a collar adapter that allows you to mount the Thies First Class Advanced Anemometer on any 2.54 cm (1”) diameter vertical pipe, such as NRG boom #4478 or any boom already fitted with a WindSensor boom extension.

The 16” Stub Mast is a straight stub mast that mounts vertically on our 2.87 m (113”) pipe booms to raise the sensor position 410 mm (16 inches) vertically. Compatible with all NRG anemometers and wind vanes.

The 13” Z Mast is an offset stub mast that mounts on our 2.87 m (113”) pipe booms to extend the sensor position 122 mm (4.8 inches) vertically and 239 mm (9.4 inches) horizontally. Compatible with all NRG anemometers and wind vanes.
